Microsoft’s Cloud Software Provider program is expanding its New Commerce Experience to include:
1. Microsoft 365: The package that integrates all of Microsoft’s existing applications (e.g. Word and Excel) into a cloud service.
2. Dynamics 365: A marketing automation tool that combines CRM and ERP solutions in a cloud service.
3. Windows 365: The user platform on your PC.
4. Power Platform: A group of no-code applications that help businesses, “develop and build complex business solutions, analyze, and draw data visualizations, automate a business process, or build virtual agents for communication.”
Overall, this is a great opportunity. It gives business owners access to a wider range of services.
The Downside to Microsoft’s Changes
Sadly, there is one huge downside…. Microsoft is increasing their pricing plans from between 10 and 25%.
For companies that are already at the max with their IT budget, studying up on this change could protect your bottom line. Unexpected price increases are never welcome – yet sometimes they are simply unavoidable.
This is not the case for Microsoft’s updated CSP. You just need to act fast.
What’s Happening with Microsoft CSP?
There are two main price changes happening as of the 1st of March 2022 and the 1st of July 2022 that will massively impact many business owners across the world. These are:
1st of March 2022
- A 20% price increase to Microsoft 365 Business Basic.
- A 20% price increase to Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
1st of July 2022
- A 20% premium added to all monthly subscriptions for Microsoft 365.
What Does This Mean for Microsoft 365 Customers?
At the moment, every single Microsoft 365 license is paid monthly. This subscription is how they’ve operated for years.
Suddenly adding a 20% price premium to monthly subscriptions will dramatically increase costs for any customers caught unaware. Luckily, you now have the appropriate knowledge to act.
What Can I Do To Save Money on Microsoft’s Business Plan?
Speaking to your IT provider is an absolutely essential first step to mitigating yourself against huge price increases on Microsoft’s services. If they aren’t able to provide you with any alternative options, you need to consider making a switch.
At Keytech, we’ve provided our customers with two options:
1. Continuing with the monthly commitment and monthly invoicing. This will mean any Business Basic or Business Premium licences you have will have a 20% increase in price from the 1st of March and another 20% increase from the 1st of July.
2. Swapping from a monthly commitment to an annual commitment; meaning that all Microsoft 365 will be invoiced for the entire year in advance (at the current price). The 20% increase will still apply if the licences haven’t been migrated before the 1st of March.
